Ending your accounting period on 30 April 2011? Time to submit the annual report!

Limited companies with the financial period ending on 30 April 2011 must file their annual report and auditor's report with Bolagsverket not later than 30 November 2011. Read more here to find useful information regarding this accounting period.

Compulsory for limited companies

All limited companies must always prepare an annual report. The annual report and the auditor's report for limited companies must be filed with Bolagsverket not later than seven months after the end of the accounting period. We cannot grant an extension of that time.

A reminder was sent mid October

Approximately 45,000 limited companies must file their annual reports for this period. On 18-19 October 2011 Bolagsverket sent a reminder to the companies which had not yet filed their reports or which had not received information that the filed reports had been approved. The reminder was sent to the company address which we have in our register.

Be on the safe side – send in the reports in time

Many companies file their annual report in the last moment. Be on the safe side by sending in the annual report in time.

To avoid late filing penalty

If the annual report and the auditor's report are filed with Bolagsverket later than seven months after the end of the accounting period, the limited company must pay a late filing penalty.

If you register on minameddelande.se (my messages) you will receive a text message when the annual report is filed with Bolagsverket and a new text message when it has been approved. (The service is available in Swedish only).

File your annual report electronically

Bolagsverket's e-service Lämna årsredovisning allows you to file your annual report electronically. Through the service you will receive an immediate acknowledgement that Bolagsverket has received the documents. The service is in Swedish only. To use the service you need a valid Swedish e-identification and an accounting programme supporting the service.

Regarding auditor's report

Limited companies registered on 31 October 2010 or earlier

The following applies to limited companies registered on 31 October 2010 or earlier: Limited companies with financial years ending on 30 April 2011 may decide to discontinue the audit at the earliest on 1 May 2011. Therefore, the auditor's report must be filed together with the annual report for accounting periods ending on 30 April 2011.

Limited companies registered on 1 November 2010 or later

The following applies to limited companies registered on 1 November 2010 or later: The limited company must have an auditor if this is required according to the legislation or the articles of association. If the limited company had an auditor registered on 30 April 2011 the auditor's report must be filed together with the annual report for the accounting period ending on 30 April 2011.
