Content

You cannot start a business if you are an undischarged bankrupt or if you have a custodian according to the Parental Code. You must be at least 18 years old if you are to run the business yourself. For certain forms of business enterprise, you can get special permission to start from the age of 16.

If you are resident outside Sweden and want to do business as a sole trader, you must appoint a person resident in Sweden to be responsible for running your business and to be registered as manager.

If you want to start a company limited by shares or an economic association in Sweden, you must be resident within the EEA (European Economic Area).
